Chairman Wontumi awarded $45 million contract by Cocobod

Leaked documents reveal that the Ghana Cocoa Board has awarded a road contract in excess of Forty Five Million Dollars ($45 million) to a company identified as Hallmark Civil Engineering for the construction of a 26.3KM road.

In a notice of award written to the company by the Ghana Cocoa Board, it states that the contract was for the rehabilitation, upgrading and reconstruction of the Dadieso – Akontombra Road and the Awaso – Asawinso (Bibiani Junction).

Credible documents from the Registrar General’s department, reveal that the company awarded this contract is owned by the outspoken NPP Ashanti Regional Chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako otherwise known as Chairman Wontumi.

The company with registration number CSO40052018 was incorporated on February 19, 2018 after the Akufo Addo government came into office. The Directors of the company are Mr Bernard Antwi Boasiako (Chairman Wontumi) and one Doris Quainoo.
